“Failure is not an option”
At the age of 19, Mark Andol opened his first business in his father’s garage, “Mark’s Small Engine and Repair Service.” He started General Welding & Fabricating, Inc. in 1989, renting a 5,000 square foot shop in East Aurora, NY.
After his business outgrew the modest facility, Andol broke ground on a 14,000 square foot building in the Town of Elma that, over the years, expanded his business to 60 employees, and three additional locations. In 2007, Andol cut the ribbon on a 48,000 sq.ft. addition to his Elma facility.
When the recession occurred, Andol began to think about the relationship between what is made and his own spending. It was a realization that would change the course of his life and business forever.
